It’s that time of year. MLS kit launches abound and we’re hungry for some sick new jerseys to add and then delete out of our online shopping carts repeatedly for the next couple months. These are…ok. Chicago going for the whole retro but modern look, while Vancouver is, um, wet? Their jersey is called the “2017 Rain Jersey,” and I’m not sure it was a good idea. They’re going for the urban-trendy 90’s inspired look. They have little triangles all over the jersey, which they call “stylized triangles” which “represent the rain.” I wonder how much that consulting session cost them. Apparently rain is a big thing in Vancouver. This jersey gets 2.5 hoofs out of 5.

Chicago’s 2017 second kit is very plain, which seems to be on trend this year (see: nycfc kit leaks). It’s not the worst thing in the world though, and the details are subtle yet nicely done. I’d give this 3.5 hoofs out of 5. Pics of both below.

Let’s start with Vancouver…link to kit explanation (needed) is Here: Whitecaps Rain Jersey
